Podcast Brainstorming

INSTRUCTIONS: "This weekend I’d like you to blog on your topic for the podcast. Post at least 200 words explaining your plans for your podcast. Since this podcast will eventually become part of your multimodal project, you should be specific regarding why the topic of your podcast is well-suited to an “oral” presentation. Brainstorm ideas for your podcast and select one to develop for this assignment. Identify your audience, purpose, and the main point you will develop in the podcast."

I am thinking that I would like to bring the focus of my podcast towards my personal experience with cancer. I have had several family members who have died of cancer. My grandpa died of brain cancer, and my grandma died of pancreatic cancer. I also have another grandmother who just finished her treatments for breast cancer. I plan to talk with her and ask her questions about her treatment, how she felt about it, and ask for information on different procedures she had done, etc. I also plan to share what my family and I observed with my grandma and grandpa when they had cancer, and perhaps ask their spouses what they observed, and how they felt while their spouse was going through the treatments, although this may be too touchy a subject to talk with them about, I'm not sure yet.

I also plan on asking my dad and mom about my grandparents as well, as they have each had a parent get cancer. I also think I want to do more research and find out MY personal risk in getting cancer, especially since I have a history of it on both sides of my family.

That's all for now, but I'll keep brainstorming and add what I come up with as I go!
